New Permissions Functionality

We're pleased to introduce new permissions functionality that will allow you to share your audience reports selectively with other Quantcast users.

This "User Privileges" functionality is available for all publishers and empowers them to:

  • Share their data internally across different business groups (web development, ad sales, executives)
  • Provide advertisers, agencies and media planners unique insight into their audiences across the network, individual sites, or segments, without having to reveal that data to everyone
  • Enable partners to access data on a project basis, while having full control on when that access is removed

Here are instructions:

Step 1:  Login to Quantcast.com
Step 2:  Select "Home" in the top navigation on the page
Step 3:  Select "settings"

Step 4:  After selecting what data to share, you will need to select the "User Privileges" tab. 
Key Tip:  Remember that when granting user privileges they are hierarchical. This means that if you give someone access to your Network, they have access to Sites and Top Level Segments. If you give access to a Site, they will have access to information on Subdomains, but not Top Level Segments.

Step 5:  Enter the email address of the person you want to grant data access. The email address must have an active account on Quantcast.com.

Step 6
:  You can view all email addresses that you've granted data access to in the User Privileges tab. If you ever want to remove access, it's as simple as going to the User Privileges page and selecting the red X button next to the email address.

:  Once access has been granted, the data access grantee will need to view the Publisher Profile to view reports.

Disney-ABC TV Group Joins Quantcast Service

Today we announced another significant addition to our Quantified Publisher program – the Disney-ABC Television Group. The company, which has already implemented Quantcast services across ABC.com, ABCNews.com, ABCFamily.com and Soapnet.com, will use our service to help deliver greater audience value through enhanced insights, packaging and advertiser programs.

“As our online businesses continue to evolve, we are always looking for ways to provide better measurement and audience insights to our advertisers,” said Peter Seymour, executive vice president, Strategy and Research, Disney Media Networks. “We believe adding Quantcast’s innovative direct-measurement service to our existing array of research data will help us move to the next level in audience packaging and value creation for our advertising partners.”

We welcome the Disney-ABC Television Group to our Quantified Publisher program, which now includes more than 85,000 participants.

MTV Networks Joins Quantified Publisher Program

Mtv_logo Yesterday, Quantcast announced a significant addition to the Quantified Publisher program: MTV Networks. All of the media company’s online properties, including MTV.com, VH1.com, Nick.com, ComedyCentral.com, as well as the Tribes affiliate network, will be included in Quantcast’s Quantified Publisher program.

As with all Quantified Publishers, our efforts with MTV Networks are focused on helping them better package their uniquely engaged audiences, and surface more precise audience data in near real-time. Marketers and agency buyers will have access to MTV Networks’ audience profiles through the free Quantcast Media Planner service.

Nada Stirratt, EVP Digital Ad Sales for MTV Networks noted, “We’re in the business of showcasing value, not just selling impressions and Quantcast helps us directly quantify our audiences for marketers who demand real accountability online.”

We’re thrilled to have MTV Networks join our growing number of quantified publishers – now over 80,000 strong, representing in excess of 10 million web properties.

FriendsareForever.com joins Quantcast!

Friendsareforever_2Friendsareforever.com, a fast growing MySpace support website has joined the Quantified publisher program with more than 23,000 global monthly uniques.

Since launching in late January, Friends are Forever has rapidly grown to cater to a large but specialized audience.  Friends are Forever allows their visitors to discover the various ways they can enhance their social networking experience, from their Layouts, Graphics, and Glitters, to Generators which allow for completely customized graphics and layouts.  

The audience skews heavily Female, with a primarily teenage audience who's interests include Social Communities, Instant Messaging, and Horoscopes.

HubPages.com joins Quantcast!

HubpagesHubpages.com, a leading online publishing ecosystem with easy-to-use publishing tools has joined Quantcast with more than 6 Million global monthly uniques.  You can see their full profile here - www.quantcast.com/hubpages.com

Hubbers (HubPages authors) earn money by publishing their Hubs (content-rich Internet pages) on topics they know and love, and earn recognition among fellow Hubbers through the community-wide HubScore ranking system. The HubPages ecosystem provides a search-friendly infrastructure which drives traffic to Hubs from search engines such as Google and Yahoo, and enables Hubbers to earn revenue from industry-standard advertising vehicles.

You can see from their profile that the audience visiting the various hubs is quite diverse.  The topics cover many different areas including Entertainment, Technology, News and Gaming.  Overall the audience tends to skew younger and slightly more female than male.  The diversity in the various hubs is the reason that this site draws a large audience representing a variety of different audience segments.  Some example authors include Maddie Ruud who writes on many topics including Health Education and Green Living, and Bob Ewing who writes about Cooking and Gardening.

Bonnaroo.com joins the Quantified Publisher Program!

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is a four-day, multi-stage camping festival held on a beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee every June. Bonnaroo brings together some of the best performers in rock and roll, along with dozens of artists in complementary styles such as jazz, Americana, hip-hop, electronica, and just about any contemporary music you can think of.

You can see from their profile that they are attracting music lovers who visit sites like Last.FM, read Rolling Stone.  You can see from our new Geo features where much of the traffic is coming from.  Even though the festival will draw a crowd from all over the country, you can see that there is still a large number of visitors from Tennessee.

Scientific American joins Quantcast!

Sciamwww.scientificamerican.com the digital version of the oldest continuously published magazine in the U.S. has joined the Quantified publisher program with more than 1.4 Million global monthly uniques. 

You can view their profile here: www.sciam.com

You can see from their profile that the site attracts a very well educated crowd.  This group is slightly older and tends to be more male than female.  The group has a strong affinity to other science related sites such as sciencenews.org as well as political websites like The Huffington Post . Overall you can see that the audience is well-informed and forward thinking.

GlowfotoGlowfoto.com, a social networking and photo sharing site has joined Quantcast with more than 500,000 global monthly uniques. Designed with functionality in mind, Glowfoto is easy enough for your Grandmother to use, but powerful enough for everybody.

Like many social networking sites, users of Glowfoto have a strong affinity to entertainment websites.  These include sites such as Celebrity Movie Blog, Savvy, Egotastic, and Daily Motion.  The users are slightly more male than female and of these users 22% visit the site 2-3 times per month which is a very healthy population of regular visitors.
